'95 Baby's first Saturn Return!
Share
Y'all, I just turned 29, and it genuinely feels like I'm stepping into my true adult years. hat I mean is, when I look in the mirror-- I genuinely see an older version of me, I don't see my teenage face, I don't see my young adult skin.A big thing I noticed recently is when I experience strong emotions, I don't react like I did in high school or college. I'm evolving, and I'm thrilled for what lies ahead!
If you're unfamiliar with the concept of a "Saturn Return," it's essentially a significant cycle, spanning roughly 27-30 years, where we undergo a transformative "rebirth." This period encourages us to align more with our true selves, shed the weight of societal expectations, and deeply focus on who we are and what we want out of life.
Astrologically, everyone has a unique age at which their Saturn Return hits its peak—and let me tell you, I can feel myself getting closer to that pivotal moment! (And yes, you can find your own Saturn Return age with a quick calculator! I gotchu!)
I'm excited to share some insights as I navigate my first Saturn Return and plan to continue this series over the next few months. Remember, while a "Saturn Return Calculator" might pinpoint a specific date, the astrological impact often begins earlier and can extend well beyond!
1. Embrace Change as Inevitable
As cliché as it sounds, the only constant in life is change. You can’t avoid it, and you certainly can’t control it. Fighting against necessary changes is exhausting, so it's best to accept them as quickly as possible. Trust in your resilience—you’ve adapted many times before, and you'll rise to the occasion again. Finding joy in the process becomes easier when you acknowledge and embrace your circumstances <3
2. Build a Supportive Community
This past year has shown me the power of having strong, genuine friendships. It makes a profound difference to connect with those around you, share openly, and listen to one another. These relationships can have an incredible impact on your mental health!! I recently told my therapist that creating a supportive community is better than any prescription—it’s irreplaceable. True, in-person connection is invaluable and can't be duplicated!
3. Cultivate a New Hobby or Skillset
It’s easy to fall into the routine of autopilot, letting the days pass without much thought. But hobbies are essential! Diving into a new skill can bring purpose and excitement to a new chapter in life. I've recently started sewing—I'm still very much a beginner, but that’s the beauty of learning something new. Everyone starts as a beginner before becoming a Master at it :)
4. Prioritize Mindful Use of Your Time
Lately, I've found myself spending too much time "bed rotting" and my husband pokes fun at me being an "iPad kid" . With some new health goals on my mind, regularly re-evaluating how I spend my time is crucial. Re-prioritizing ensures that I'm making room for growth, wellness, and fulfillment in all areas of my life. I'm learning to audit what I do and how I feel when I spend hours just lounging. It's been so helpful to reflect on why it's needed, and when it becomes excessive.
Navigating this season of change is both exciting and a little nerve-wracking, but I know it’s all part of growing into the most authentic version of myself. If you're going through your own Saturn Return—or just feeling a shift in your life—remember that you're not alone. We’re all learning, growing, and finding our way. Embrace the journey, lean on your community, and never stop discovering new passions. Here’s to welcoming change, one day at a time!
